SOLID SHINE Laser is Enhanced with the Latest DLP™ Technology
Together with the latest DLP™ module for detailed WUXGA resolution and new-generation solid-state laser diodes for high brightness, Panasonic PT-FRZ55 outstanding performance stems from a four-segment Quartet Color Harmonizer color wheel that reduces energy loss from the light source, an all-new heat-resistant phosphor wheel, and an optimized laser drive system to boost perceived brightness and improve color accuracy.

Supports 4K Signal Input
The PT-FRZ55 supports uncompressed 4K video-signal input via HDMI® or DIGITAL LINK terminals. The ability to play Ultra HD video at the projector’s supported native resolution is useful in situations where the same premium video content is intended for playback on multiple 4K and non-4K projectors or displays. It saves operators the hassle of re-encoding source video and allows it to be added to a projector network that includes 4K units, streamlining simultaneous playback of a single 4K video source on all compatible display devices.
CEC-ready HDMI Inputs and USB-DC Outlet
HDMI inputs are compatible with control commands from a CEC-compatible component, and allow you to power the projector on/off and commence playback using the source device’s controls. A 5 V/2 A USB-DC outlet will power an HDMI network streaming device so groups can share content to the big screen from their PCs or mobiles. USB power also supports connection of PressIT, Panasonic’s new Wireless Presentation System, for effortless one-touch transmission of content from PC or mobile––no software installation required.
Proven SOLID SHINE Laser Reliability
Failover Redundancy Circuits
Multi-Laser Drive Engine groups laser diodes into discrete modules protected by failover protection circuitry. If a diode in a module fails, only the affected series is bypassed and resulting brightness loss is imperceptible. If a diode fails in other laser projectors, the circuit breaks and all the diodes in the module shut down, resulting in a dramatic loss of brightness. Having multiple light-sources allows projection to continue in the unlikely event of module failure. These protections are invaluable when image display must not be interrupted.
Natural White Balance
Quartet Color Harmonizer captures a wider section of the color gamut than comparable projectors, which in turn allows white to be reproduced realistically on screen. In conventional projectors, if an ideal white balance isn't achieved, images can appear with a distracting greenish tint.
SOLID SHINE Laser for Dependably High Brightness
Have durable solid-state laser modules in place of a consumable lamp. The benefits of laser projection are emphatically proven, with no need for consumable parts replacement over years of continuous 24/7 projection and a shallower brightness ramp with superior color uniformity. Experience better picture quality for longer at a comparably lower cost. Another advantage is the ability to switch the unit on and off from the room breaker any time without risking damage to the light-source.
Rich Color Enhancer
Rich Color Enhancer offers a Dynamic Mode setting to increase image brightness, or Graphic Mode/Standard Mode, which adjusts color-wheel timing to produce deeper, richer colors in rooms where maximum brightness is unnecessary.

Brilliant Colour Reproduction
Quartet Colour Harmoniser is an original colour-wheel mechanism featuring optimised optical design. It modulates light-output according to the image’s colour requirements, achieving wide-gamut reproduction with pure white for greater colour accuracy and depth without sacrificing brightness. Combined with stable SOLID SHINE Laser brightness and the superior uniformity of DLP™ imaging, colours appear richer and brighter without the greenish cast sometimes experienced with alternative projection technologies.
Dynamic Contrast 2 Heightens Contrast Precision
A new Dynamic Contrast 2 setting that enhances digitally modulated contrast precision to a level approaching our professional models. Dynamic Contrast regulates light-output frame-by-frame or scene-by-scene according to image requirements, achieving accurate contrast when bright and dark scenes frequently interchange. Whites are brighter, blacks richer, and skin-tones more natural even in well-lit environments. The technology also consumes less energy than conventional projection systems
Daylight View Basic
Panasonic’s Daylight View Basic technology achieves sharp, easily viewed images by enhancing detail, particularly in dark areas of the image that are normally difficult to see in brightly lit rooms. A built-in sensor measures ambient light while Daylight View Basic adjusts halftone color and brightness according to the surrounding level of illumination.
Detail Clarity Processor 3
This unique Panasonic circuit optimizes the sharpness of each image based on the super high, high, medium, and low frequency components of the extracted image information. Resulting pictures are expressed with natural realism.
DICOM Simulation Mode
This imaging mode is similar to the DICOM Part 14 medical imaging standard. It lends a film-like resolution to X-ray images, making the projector is ideal for medical presentations and training.
Quiet, Versatile, and Easy to Install
Auto Screen Image Rotation
Images are automatically rotated depending on installation orientation—upside down on the ceiling or set on a table—using a built-in angle sensor.
Wide-Range 2.0x Zoom and Lens Shift
The inclusion of a versatile 2x zoom and joystick-operated wide-range lens shift grants flexibility for installation in different rooms and for projection on different screen sizes. To produce a 100-inch-diagonal wide-screen image, projection distance extends from approximately 3.3 m (10.8 ft) to approximately 6.7 m (22.0 ft).
ECO Management System
Push the ECO button on the remote control to set up Eco Management functions, including automatic brightness reduction in dim ambient lighting conditions, and power consumption reduction when no input signal is detected.
Separate LAN and DIGITAL LINK Terminals
Separate LAN and HDBase-T™-based DIGITAL LINK terminals allow 100Base-TX- and 10BaseT-compatible control signals via Panasonic, Crestron®, AMX, and Extron® applications to be assigned to the dedicated LAN connection, freeing DIGITAL LINK for high-bandwidth video over cable runs of up to 150 m (492 ft)
Screen Adjustment for Specially Shaped Screens
Horizontal, vertical, and corner keystone correction adjusts the image shape for clear visibility when projecting off-axis or from an unusual angle. Curved Screen Correction allows for the projection of natural, distortion-free images onto curved or cylindrical surfaces.
Edge Blending and Color Matching
Adjoining edges in a multi-screen system can be blended to create a smooth and seamless image. Slight variations in the color reproduction of individual projectors can be corrected in multi-screen applications.
Art-Net DMX Compatible
Compatible with Art-Net DMX protocol for lighting management. Art-Net compatibility allows the projector to be connected to a lighting console with easy control of functions.
Fade In and Fade Out
Digital laser output power modulation technology also enables a handy Fade In/Fade Out function for a smoother presentation.
Filterless Cooling and Airtight Optical Block
Implementation of heat-pipe-based cooling with heat-sinks for the DMD block eliminate need for an air filter. These projectors can operate continuously in dusty environments for 20,000 hours* without maintenance thanks to a hermetically sealed optical engine that prevents dust intrusion and associated image degradation.
Quiet 27 dB* Projection Mode
With more lessons and meetings now taking place online, it’s important to own a quiet projector that won’t drown out the discussion. A silent projector also helps your team to focus by limiting distractions. The PT-FRZ55 includes a Quiet Mode that enables practically inaudible 27 dB* operation. Enjoy better results from an alert audience, whether they’re in the room or watching online.
