Mitsubishi today introduced the HD4000U, its first wide-screen, high definition and high brightness projector designed for wide-format laptops and imaging applications requiring the 16:9 wide aspect ratio. Mitsubishi’s HD4000U aims to be the lowest-price widescreen projector targeted for the professional market today it is poised for use with the newer wide XGA operating systems and widescreen computers.
The projector boasts Texas Instruments’ DDP3020 Digital Light Processing® TrueVision™ Image processing with BrilliantColor™ which uses a color-processing algorithm and system level enhancements for greater brightness and truer, more vibrant colors, and allows for a greater than 50 percent increase in mid-tone images. In fact, when blasting its 2000 ANSI lumens, the image is visually comparable to a standard projector image from a similar unit with much higher brightness specifications, which creates bright, dynamic images for presentations and high definition video.
“Our new HD4000U brings widescreen imaging to business and professional environments to match the latest presentation tools and laptops, while providing high brightness and excellent color and portability for people who want to bring it home for family entertainment,” said Frank Anzures, product manager, projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America.
Along with an impressive contrast ratio of 2500:1 for greater detail in dark areas particularly in video images, the HD4000U weighs just 6.4 pounds, portable and easy enough to carry home for a widescreen, high definition home theater experience.
“System consultants and integrators have been requesting a widescreen alternative from us that shows excellent video, along with powerful brightness for business use. We’ve designed the HD4000U to meet their needs,” said James Chan, director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “Now business professionals have a choice for a widescreen experience, brought to them from a manufacturer known for its high quality and strong customer support. Home users, too, will applaud its versatility.
