Aside from resolution, the major identifiers of portable projection quality are colour saturation, contrast ratio and illumination uniformity. And, among the image engine components of a projector, LCD quality is the key.
The LCD's in the EMP-3500 are purpose-built for projectors and are produced by Epson's parent company, SEIKO Epson, one of the world's largest Poly-Silicon LCD innovators and manufacturers. Epson uses three Poly-Silicon LCD's at 640 x 480 pixels: one for red, one for blue and one for green. So for every image that is sent through the projector, almost a million pixels are used to create the final dazzling output. This approach gives the EMP-3500 clear, crisp text and graphics with accurate, saturated, brilliant colours.
