Crystal Clear Fine 3LCD technology
At the heart of the EH-TW2800 is Epson's world–leading 3LCD technology. This advanced projection system uses three individual LCD panels to give form to images with silky smooth movement and fresh, natural colours delivering outstanding results in any home cinema environment.
Due to 3LCD's incredibly efficient use of light, in combination with a 200W E–TORL lamp, the EH TW3000 achieves quiet operating levels, exceptional image clarity and a flicker–free display. Importantly, it's Epson's 3LCD Panel that optimises the display of high–definition images from the latest technologies, including High Definition Broadcasting, Blu–ray and Hollywood quality video (HQV).
Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX processor
The Silicon Optix HQV processor is the reference standard in deinterlacing and scaling. Its Floating Point Gate Array technology realises an incredible one trillion processing operations per second. In fact, this system provides a host of processing, deinterlacing and scaling benefits. And it delivers true, four–field, pixel–by–pixel processing, even with 1080i/60 Hz HD program material. With standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) interlaced content (DVDs, TV shows, 1080i HDTV broadcasts), the Reon–VX smooths jagged edges on low–angle solid lines and flat edges. MPEG compression– related artifacts, such as mosquito noise, are reduced due to the Reon’s processing prowess. MPEG compression works via 8x8 pixel blocks — Reon–VX block–noise reduction minimises block noise artifacts, restoring a natural picture. For poor contrast image sources, such as SD broadcast, cable and video tape, Reon–VX provides three user–selectable levels of contrast enhancement.
16000:1 High Contrast Ratio
When it comes to delivering optimum image display quality–colour, brightness and contrast ratio are the key determining factors.
With a spectacular contrast ratio of 16,000:1, the EHTW2800 projects bright scenes with ultra bright whites, and dark scenes with rich blacks. Underpinning the projector's ability to regulate the brightness and contrast of every scene is the advanced Auto Iris function and Full High Definition 3LCD panel technology.
Using the new Auto Iris function, the EH TW2800 controls and adjusts lamp brightness levels 60 times every second. When the projector is displaying a light scene, the iris is opened to allow more light to pass through to the LCD panels, resulting in a bright image. For dark scenes, the iris opening is reduced, delivering richer blacks than are possible with less advanced systems. The new Auto Iris feature on the EH-TW2800, allows you to select either Normal or Fast Speed giving the viewer even more control over the picture.
Light–efficient lamp technology E–TORL
One of the crucial features delivered by the ehtw2800 is its ability to provide up to 1600 lumens via incredibly efficient E–TORL (Epson Twin Optimised Reflection Lamp) technology. Designed to minimise light leakage – a primary cause of lamp inefficiency – and minimise light diffraction, E–TORL lamps combine an ellipsoidal reflector, spherical lens and hemispherical mirror. This combination ensures optimum light efficiency with minimal power consumption and heat generation.
High Brightness
With 1,600 lumens in high brightness mode, the EH tw2800 delivers brilliant cinema quality viewing. The EH-TW2800 is designed with features to ensure a "best fit" for any situation whether it’s a dedicated home theatre room or living room.
HDMI
The EHTW2800 features dual, HDMI terminals capable of transmitting nearly double the information of previous HDMI versions, thus expanding the number of colours considerably. Connecting with a next generation Blue Ray player makes it possible to enjoy the absolute best image quality that full high definition 1080p can provide
