The device incorporates a large range of features that maximize convenience and image quality, including Automatic Keystone Correction, Wall Colour Correction, remote control of the connected computer’s mouse, and an Analogue RGB output for the connection of an external monitor. Start-up and shutdown times are more than 60% faster than the previous model, and Quiet Mode has dropped to just 30dBA.
High quality presentations
Benefiting from Canon’s expertise and heritage in optical technology, the projector features a compact Canon 1.2x zoom lens which projects with superior clarity and colour. The wide angle of the lens allows for very short throw distances when meeting space is tight: 100” images can be produced from just 3 metres away. High quality XGA panels produce images with a native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and using compression, it is possible to display images from input sources at a maximum of UXGA resolution (1600 x 1200).
The Canon LV-7240’s 2100 lumens of brightness provides bright and clear presentations without drawing the blinds, or even from long throwing distances.
The projector uses progressive scanning, which draws the entire frame continuously from top to bottom, greatly reducing flicker and producing cleaner diagonal lines and text compared to projectors using interlaced scanning. The projector even has a ‘Flicker Reduction’ mode, which can improve the image quality from interlaced sources.
Convenience and flexibility
The LV-7240 can easily be operated without distortion even when not placed perpendicular to the screen –a built-in tilt sensor ensures trapezium distortion is automatically corrected, with an adjustment range of up to +/– 30 degrees. When presentations need to take place in rooms without a projection screen, the new Wall Colour Correction feature ensures images are optimized for projecting onto a blackboard or coloured wall – the projector compensates for the background colour to create a natural colour scheme. Seven colours are catered for: blackboard green, light yellow, light green, light blue, sky blue, light rose and pink.
Additional connectors for analogue RGB output are supplied, allowing connection of a separate prompt monitor, so presenters can simultaneously face their audience and see the presentation. The newly designed remote control offers control of most of the projector’s functions, and when used in conjunction with the supplied USB infrared receiver, can be used to control the mouse of a computer from up to 7 metres away, offering the presenter real freedom of movement.
The Image Reversal function displays images correctly when the projector is mounted upside-down on a ceiling or when used for rear projection.
Ultra fast
No time is wasted when setting up the projector – after connection to a computer or other video source, Auto PC Adjust detects the signal type and resolution.
