Side Shot™ 2 Digital Keystoning
Digital horizontal and vertical keystone adjustment capabilities with the press of a button to align the picture effortlessly. This technology allows you to place the Sony VPL-HS3 off axis to the screen in order to save space in the center of the room.
Optical Engine Power (OEP)
The VPL-HS3 projectors optical unit has a maximum of 1200 ANSI lumen that is optimized for video content. When compared to a data grade projector showing the same video content, the HS3 has a higher brightness rating.
Cinema Black Pro
Allows for Lamp (low, high) and Iris (on, off) control for better contrast and brightness. This menu driven feature turns the Iris shutter off (open) for high brightness and standard contrast, or on (closed) for low brightness and higher contrast. The contrast ratio is 800:1, which is a 33% improvement over the previous models.
Short Focal Lens
This new lens allows for a remarkable 6.5 ft. throwing distance for an 80 inch screen image.
Low Fan Noise
Fan Noise of 28dB (Lamp Control: Low and Iris Control: On) is the lowest level in the Sony projector lineup. It is barely noticeable, which is critical for home installation applications.
