The Acer H6520BD is mainly used as a home cinema projector. With its nVidia 3D TV Play ready function, it is compatible to nVidia 3D applications on personal computers. The optional 3D display in 144Hz generates an even steadier 3D image. This makes watching 3D content less straining on the eyes.
This 3D projector can be connected directly your 3D Blu-ray player via HDMI . You will require 3D DLP Link shutter glasses, also available from Acer. Its full HD resolutions for the home cinema use is also beneficial for business presentations.
One of the HDMI connections is MHL enabled so you can connect MHL ready devices directly by cable. This is particularly helpful for mobile devices. Another advantage of the H6520BD is the option to use an MHL dongle which enables wireless access to the dongle and the projector. You can also use this dongle to send files from a notebook to your prejector. The vertical keystone correction of +/-40 degrees is a useful featue: when the projector stands or hangs at an angle, it allows easy adjustment of the image.
The DLP projctor has full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in a 16:9 format. Considering its size the brightness of 3500 ANSI lumens is good as well as the contrast ratio of 10000:1. Particularly darker image content is displayed in good detail as the review reports. The fan noise of 27 dBA in Eco Mode is pleasantly low, another advantage for a home cinema projector.
The connection options are best to none. It provides two HDMI inputs, one of which MHL able. It has the classic VGA connection to connect to your notebook.
